At the time of writing, it’s only a week to go now until the start of the Crieff & Strathearn Drovers Tryst – the walking festival around Crieff and Strathearn. This year’s Tryst runs from the 8th-15th October 2011.
The Tryst is now 10 years old but is celebrating the drovers who converged on Crieff with their cattle for hundreds of years in days gone by.
This year’s programme includes a series of easy, medium and hard walks, two mountain bike races including the famous Hairy Coo race at Comrie Croft, and a selection of social events, talks and the ever popular Barn dance.
The Crieff & Strathearn Drovers Tryst attracts visitors from the local area, across Scotland and from further away. It provides a welcome boost to the many Crieff hotels and retailers at an otherwise quiet time of year. Of course visitors are not restricted to just the Tryst events, there are many other things to do in Crieff as well.
Of course, Perthshire is beautiful at any time of year, but during the Tryst visitors can experience big tree county in all it’s Autumnal splendour.
