Every year, in the middle of August, Crieff Highland Games takes center stage in the Strathearn Capital. Having just attended the 2015 Crieff games I can attest it really is a great day out. With a mix of heavyweight and athletic sports, dancing, pipe bands and folk/rock bands, Crieff Highland Gathering absolutely nailed it this year.
The chieftan for 2015 was curling superstar, Eve Muirhead.

The Games were watched by 6,500 locals and visitors – one of the better crowds in recent years, helped by a new format and some stunning summer weather.
The new format saw the bands Clanadonia and Skerryvore playing to hundreds of enthusiastic games goers.
The day started with a parade through the town.
And the games themselves went on all afternoon. There was plenty of praise on social media too for the day out.
