Thursday, September 11, 2008 Blairgowrie Visitor Centre and Hydro Scheme Planned
As part of regeneration plans for Blairgowrie and Rattray in Perthshire, there are plans afoot to build a new hydro scheme and visitor centre on the River Ericht which runs through the heart of the town.
The plans to generate electricity include selling the power to the National Grid and pocketing up to £100K per year earmarked for community projects. This is the kind of renewable power scheme that can really change communities and I hope it gets the go-ahead from the relevant planners. |
