Monday, March 20, 2006 Cheap restaurants in Glasgow
Heard a guy on the radio this morning, talking about cheap restaurants in Glasgow. Actually I only half-heard the article, but later went to the web address that they were talking about. It's a website called www.priceyourmeal.com where restaurants put meal vouchers up for auction to the highest bidder. Very ebay-like and very trendy. Still if it means you can get a cheap meal in a good Glasgow restaurant, more power to it.
It strikes me like an auction version of www.5pm.co.uk - an established site that started with just Edinburgh and Glasgow restaurants selling off spare covers to keep their tables full. The more ways the public have of getting a decent cheap restaurant the better. |
