Scotland Tourism Brochures for Autumn Holidays

Visit Scotland are also currently promoting their brochure for autumn breaks and autumn holidays in Scotland.
See http://autumn.visitscotland.com/ for a brochure

Win tickets for Enchanted Forest at Pitlochry

For the past few years, the National Trust have run an outdoors event at the Hermitage by Dunkeld. This year it is set at Faskally Wood by Pitlochry. Set at night in late Autumn it is a light, music and theatre show where visitors walk round a predefined route, experiencing the Perthshire forest in a rather different light.

Visit Scotland are running a competition to win tickets for the Enchanted Forest at Pitlochry but even if you don't win, tickets are not that expensive.

We went a couple of years ago, and our main criticism was that we could have used a cup of hot soup at the end (or something stronger). It was october and it was freezing, so take a flask if you are going.

Edinburgh Festival Fireworks - Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert

In my view, the highlight of the festival. But I love fireworks, and you do not get fireworks better than this show anywhere. Up to 100,000 fireworks, quarter of a million spectators, a city backdrop that is second to none. Go see it:
Sunday 4th September at 9pm
Watch from Princes Street, or from Inverleith Park for a slightly more sedate atmosphere. Take your radio and tune into Radio Forth (I think) for the orchestral accompaniment.
It's a brilliant evening out.

Autumn short breaks in Scotland

Getting to the time of year when short breaks are getting cheaper in Scotland. The first one I've seen is 2 nights for a family of 4 with Haven Holidays from GBP79. Not too shabby really. To find out more www.havenholidays.com. They've got a couple of parks in Scotland, and for GBP79 - what have you got ot loose?
