Tuesday, October 18, 2005 Autumn breaks in Scotland
It is around this time of year that we see traffic to this website dropping off. It's fair enough, the nights are getting longer, the clocks about to change and people's thoughts turn to staying in, cozy nights in front of the telly and the big C word at the end of the year, rather than looking for a holiday in Scotland.
Anyone doing this though is missing out on one of the best times of year for a holiday in Scotland. The autumn colours on the trees will be reaching a peak in a couple of weeks and really are spectacular, especially when you combine it with a cool, crisp autumn day, blue skies, a touch of frost on the ground and a roaring log fire in the pub after a long walk. Atumn breaks in Scotland offer great value for money. The main tourist season is over and many hotels are doing great two-for-one offers and other discount holidays. You'll find lots of these in the sunday supplements of newspapers, or try an online service such as laterooms.com. |
This blog is a guide to our holidays in Scotland website and also contains info for visitors to Scotland including Scottish hotels, holiday accommodation, things to do and places to go in Scotland.
