Funny old world

Sure, isn't it just the thing that you tell everyone how great a place is then something comes along to stop them from getting there.

That's what happend last night when 2 landslides came down in Glenogle between Lochearnhead and Killin. Luckily there were no injuries or fatalities it seems, though the poor people caught and rescued must have been terrified.

The media are having a field day with it as it comes hot on the heels of the flash flood in Cornwall just 2 days before. Funny how the British news channels practically ignored an almost identical incident last week blocking the main road from Perth to Inverness. I guess you get to pick what news you tell people about though when you run a tv station, don't you?

Don't fret about the road. They build them sturdy up here, and the roads department (called BEAR) will no doubt have it open again in no time. In the meantime, it wont hurt to take the detour west via Loch Lomond or east via the Sma Glen and Aberfeldy if you are heading for Killin. Both roads are extremely pleasant on the eyes.

Happy travelling, and keep an eye out for moving hillsides...
