Your
interest in Glasgow might be based on shopping, and if so, Glasgow
has some of the finest shopping in the UK, second only to London.
Glasgow city centre shopping is focused around 3 main streets, Sauchiehall
St, Buchanan St and Argyll St. Around these areas there are numerous
shopping centres, designer shops, Scottish shops, pubs and eateries.
Elsewhere in Glasgow, Byres Rd in the west end has an eclectic mix
of shops, and Braehead shopping centre is an edge of town shopping
complex for those who can't get enough of the town centre.
If
live music is your type of entertainment, there are several great
live music venues in Glasgow - The
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The
Barrowlands Ballroom, King
Tut's, The Garage,
The SECC,the
Clyde Auditorium and the Carling
Academy Glasgow amongst them.
If
sport interests you, Glasgow is home to the two biggest football
teams in Europe - Rangers
and Celtic (or maybe that
should be the other way round - Celtic and Rangers) and you can
visit both grounds - Ibrox & Parkhead (Celtic Park). Scotland's
national football stadium - Hampden is also sited in Glasgow
and stadium visits can be made there too.
