Baby Changing Facilities in Scotland

Scotland is pretty well catered for when it comes to changing a baby.

Public toilets run by the local authority are the usual first stop. These are mostly clean and well maintained. Often if you can find a public toilet with an attendant, then you will be happy enough to change your baby there. In public toilets the baby change facilities are usually in the Disabled loo which is unisex, so Dad can change the nappy or daiper too.

Some large shops in Scotland have baby change facilities. Most larger supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury and Morrisons have a dedicated baby change room, often with (the shop's own brand) of free nappies if you don't have one with you. Marks and Spencer are another large shop in Scotland that have baby change facilities in most stores and you will find a branch of Marks and Spencer in pretty much every town. Mothercare is a large baby shop that has a few outlets in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen. They have baby change and often bottle warming and feeding stations in their stores.

If you are stuck in a Scottish town that doesn't have a major supermarket or local authority changing facilities then your next best bet is to try the main hotel in town. Most will have a baby change table in their disabled loo.

Smaller restaurants, cafes and hotels around Scotland sometimes have a baby change facility, but it's not always guaranteed, and obviously they usually want your custom before being happy for your to use their facilities.

Tourist attractions such as castles, ornamental gardens, parks and other public places often provide baby change facilities but beware of entrance fees and charges for parking before you ever get near the facilities.
